The Healthy Learners in School Program with support from MANGO is promoting a Healthy Breakfasts for Healthy Learners project during the month of November. Each week during the month there will be new information available to parents and guardians.

Miramichi Rural school will be having a Remembrance Day ceremony on Friday, November 9th, 2012 from 10:30 - 11:30 in the gym. All are welcome to attend.
Please note that the Elementary Soccer Jamboree that was scheduled for MRS today has been cancelled due to inclement weather and poor playing conditions. However, it has been rescheduled for next week, Saturday, October 27th same times, same place. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
Parents, Guardians and Caregivers are invited to attend the Kindergarten Kick-Off at their community schools. This meeting will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the Transition to School program and the planned activities and events throughout the pre-school year. There will be suggestions of activities that could be done at home and other information to encourage your child’s learning as he/she gets ready to go to school in September 2013.

The winner of the Fall Harvest Basket Draw was Jacque Manuel. Jacque has won himself a full turkey meal to enjoy this Thanksgiving weekend. Also, Lorraine McIntyre won herself an apple pie. Thank you to all who supported and sold tickets for this fundraiser. We raised $509.
Registration for children entering Kindergarten in September 2013 will be held from October 9-12, 2012 at Miramichi Rural School. Kindergarten registration is for children who will turn five by December 31, 2013. Medicare Card and/or Birth Certificate and Proof of Immunization are required at time of registration. Home and School will be sending home tickets today, October 1st to sell on a Harvest Basket (filled with all the trimmings for a Thanksgiving supper). All tickets and money are due back on Friday, October 5th when the draw will take place.
We are in urgent need of some parent volunteers to help out with our breakfast program. Currently we are unable to offer this program as we have no one to organize it. Please help us out in having our students start out their day just right with a full belly. Please contact the school at 228-2000 if you are able to help us out for even 1 day a week.
