Welcome
Back! We are about to embark on another
year of learning, adventures and memories.
We, the staff of M.R.S. are full of excitement and anticipation for the
return of our students and we look forward to seeing you, the parents,
grandparents, guardians, etc.
Today,
you will be overwhelmed with notes and forms to be completed. Thank you for your cooperation in filling
these out in their entirety and returning them by the due dates given. This information is important in updating our
files. I will also ask that you
carefully review the information found in the handbook that has been sent home
with our K-3 students. This information
can be found at the front of student agenda’s for students in grades 4-8. By reviewing and understanding the information
presented in this document, it will eliminate future inconveniences, for
example, with regards to bussing. The
updated handbook will also be available on our school website.
This
year, we are pleased to announce that M.R.S. will be adopting a “study block”
that aligns with the middle school philosophy.
As a means to increase instructional minutes, all students in grades 6-8
will return to their homeroom class at 11:55 (after they have eaten) for study
block. This time will be used to
complete homework, projects, assignments, and receive extra instruction in any
subject area. Study block will take
place Monday to Thursday.
We
hope that the transition back to school goes smoothly for everyone and look
forward to seeing you all real soon!
Sincerely,
Miss Z. Vienneau
