COVID Home Learning Update

Posted: January 7, 2022

Due Date:

Friday, January 7, 2022
Hi everyone,
As you all know - we will not be returning to school this Monday - but will be taking part in at home learning for a minimum of 2 weeks.
I hope we will all be able to be together again sooner than later.

The procedure for this period of at home learning will be very similar to how things were done during the CUPE strike.
I will be making a choice board, for each grade, which will include 4 activities per subject for this upcoming week (Tuesday-Friday) and 5 activities per subject the following week (Monday-Friday).
This way, your child is given a bit of independence and can choose their work for the day, hopefully giving way to less resistance and avoidance of doing work at home.

I will be hosting a morning meeting on Zoom at 10 each morning for a half hour to chat and socialize with their peers and then 2 grade specific meetings in the afternoons to allow for students to ask questions about their work, if they have any.
The Grade 3's meeting will be at 12:45 and the Grade 4's meeting will be at 1:10. Students are asked only to join the grade specific meetings if they have questions - so that time can be spent effectively answering questions from those who are struggling - but everyone is welcome at the morning meeting.

I will be posting the choice board online to my teacher page, as well as the links to any websites needed.
I will additionally be printing off this choice board, spelling words, worksheets, textbooks, etc. for each student.
The pick-up time for these packets will be on Monday from 12-2. If you are unable to make it for this time, the packets will be left out of the school for later pick up.
If you have any questions, let me know!
