Dear families, just because schools are closed does not mean learning stops. We all have a part to play in educating our students. We encourage all our students to read everyday for at least 20 minutes. There are also many other learning opportunities that can take place while at home. Help bake and practice fractions and measurement skills. Go outside and get at least 60 minutes of physical activity a day. Play board games, keep a daily journal of your activities, access the many free educational websites available online, such as splashmath (some students already have accounts).
This week is staff appreciation week! Let our team know how much they mean to you! Just a short note saying "thanks" makes our hearts glow and can make our day just that much brighter. Teachers and staff do more then just teach; they foster friendships, coach, parent, advise, care, heal, nurse, love, and so much more.
The gr. 5-6 class is extremely excited to announce that they have surpassed their goal of making 30 Christmas Shoeboxes. Due to the generosity of the community, the class was able to create 32 shoeboxes!!! Thank you to all who graciously donated items for this wonderful cause. The gr.5-6 class really enjoyed putting these boxes together and expressed how happy it made them to spread joy to those children who will recieve the gifts. Thank you again for all your help!
The gr.5-6 class have taken on the initiative of collecting items in hopes of filling shoeboxes to send over seas to children who are less fortunate through the Operation Christmas Child program. All K-8 students are asked to donate items (if possible). Last year our class was able to prepare 22 shoebox with your generous donations. Our goal this year is to prepare 30 shoeboxes. Please keep in mind, items should fit in your standard shoebox. Ideas for items are listed in the document section. Thank you for your continued support!
Please note that there will be a number of items sent home with your child/children today. Please take the time to go through the documents and be sure to complete and return all the required forms as soon as possible. It is important that the office has your most current contact information on file.
Also, our handbook is being sent home today. This document is to be keep at home and will come in handy as it contains important dates, school bus expectations (that can be reviewed with your child/children), the school code of conduct, this years staff, etc.
