In math students are continuing to practice dividing decimals. They have been experiencing difficulty with this so I will spend some more time to ensure they have grasped this concept before moving on. I expect we will have our unit test around Wednesday next week.
In Social Studies we learned about the ``Home Children`` in the early 1900`s and continued to work on our Social Action Projects.

Today in Math the 6/7 class worked on multiplying and dividing decimals. In Social studies class we began the first unit in the text "Empowerment". Here we looked at ways we can become empowered culturally, politically, and individually. Students read from the text and worked on their summarization skills.

Today was a day when the students had a once in a lifetime experience. Many of our students actually got to touch the olympic torch!

Today in math the grade 6's began working on adding and subtracting decimals. Most had no problem with this whatsoever! The grade 7's continued their work converting fractions and ordering fractions/decimals.
In Social Studies we began our unit on exploring Canada by looking at stories of Native Canadians across Canada and watching some of the Canadian History Moments.
