Mango Mania Challenge - Eat Your Veggies and Fruit!

Students are being challenged the week of March 21st - March 25th to eat the recommended suggested servings of fruit and vegetables.  Students must record this on the sheet provided last week and hand it in to Mme Perron no later than March 28th, 2011.

Homework for Monday, March 21st, 2011

1.  Read 20 minutes and log entry in Journal. 2.  Lecture 3x (Read French book 3 times).  Log it in agenda. 3.  Study (x) tables.  Gr. 4 - Read Connect on p. 129 and top of p.130.  Do q.1 & 2 on p. 130. 4.  Students going to District Science Fair must bring a signed note from parent to stay after school to work on science fair project if needed for Monday, March 21st and Tuesday, March 22nd.  District Fair is Wed. March 23rd.  Students must find their own means of transportation to the Fair. 5.  Mango Mania-Keep track of the fruits and vegetables you eat every day this week.  Return sheet by March 28th. 6.  Health - Test on Canada's Food Guide on Thurs. March 24th. Reminders: 1.  Hotlunch on Friday, March 25th, 2011 will be pizza from Pizza Delight for $2.00/slice. 2.  Scholastic Book order is due April 8th, 2011.

Skateboarding

The gr.4's were very surprised to find out that they were chosen to participate in a skateboarding presentation.  Not only did they learn how to skateboard safely, they had a tremendous amount of fun doing so!

The Gr. 4-5's were pleasantly surprised to find out that they were recognized for eating healthy snacks in February.  Well done everyone!  Our next challenge awaits!  Let's continue to maintain healthy eating habits. 

Acadian Village Presentation

The Gr. 4-5's were quite inquisitive when it came to learning about how the Acadians lived in the 18th century.  Many great questions were asked.  The students were quite surprised to learn just how hard life was during this time period and that there wasn't much time for playing!

Science Fair

Miramichi Rural School will be hosting a Science Fair which involves all students from Kindergarten up to grade 8.  Please come out Thursday, March 17th, 2011 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. to view all the great projects!
