Recently Miramichi Rural School students raised funds for a charity called, "Post Genocide Education Fund". This charity provides scholarships for students who have suffered through genocide in Rwanda and Sudan.  Featured here is a video from Niyibizi Moses expressing his sincere thanks to the students of Miramichi Rural for their great support in helping fellow genocide survivors gain access to post secondary education.Moses recently graduated from Mount Kenya University in Kigali and is now working for Rwanda Tourism University College as an IT support technician.  Not only do the

Student Council has prepared a week of fun for the entire student body here at M.R.S.  It's "A Monster Mash Winter ".  They are encouraging students to show their school spirit and participate in the dress up days as well as the activities planned for the entire week of Feb. 25th - March 1st.  The dress up days are as follows:  Monday, February 25th - Hat Day Tuesday, February 26th - Clashy Flashy  Day (Wear mix matched colors and patterns) Wednesday, February 27th - Dress up as a Silly Monster Day

WEEK #4: Food Safety at Lunch Time Tips for Keeping Lunch Safe: 1. Always wash hands before preparing or eating lunch. This is the one of best ways to prevent food spoilage and contamination.2. Keep cold foods cold. 3. Keep hot foods hot. 4. Clean all lunch boxes, thermal bags, plastic utensils and containers in hot soapy water. DO NOT re-use plastic wrapping and bags. 5. We will be celebrating our 100th Day of School on Friday, Feb.22nd for students in grades K-2.  However, we will be serving pancakes and sausages for the entire school in the morning to kick-off the 100th Day Celebration.
