Student Council is looking ahead at materials needed to decorate for the grade 8 banquet in June.  If you have wrapping paper tubes that you would like to donate to the school we would greatlty appreciate it.  Please send them in any time throughout the year and give them to Mrs. Guimond.  Thank you very much!

Miramichi Rural School would like to thank all students, parents and staff who helped out with the Bottle Drive on November 17th, 2012 from collecting bottles, to donating bottles, sorting and packing the truck.  Without your help we couldn't have done it.  We managed to raise $987.43!!!  Well done everyone!  Again, thank you for giving of your time and bottles.  We really appreciated it!

From November 27th, 2012 to the end of May 2013 there will be a penny drive.  All students, K-8, are asked to bring in any pennies that they may have and wish to donate.  The class who has collected the most pennies per capita per month will receive the penny trophy for the month.  The class who consistanly collects the most pennies throughout the year will win a pizza party for the class.  Get checking under your cushions!

There will be a Christmas Dance for students Gr. 5-8 on Friday, December 14th, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.  The cost will be $3.00.  The canteen will be open, all items are $1.00.

On Tuesday, December 11th, 2012 there will be a Sockhop for students K-4 from 11:55-12:20 in the gym.  The cost will be $0.50.

Throughout the week of December 4th - December 11th, Student Council will be selling Candy Cane Candy Grams in the lobby from 11:30 - 11:55 for $1.00 each.  An order form will also go home should parent(s) wish to order one for their child(ren). Parents and students can send along a short message with the candy cane candy gram as well.

The Parent School Support Committee is a group of 6-12 members, parent and community members who work in an encouraging, advisory, and collaborative model with the School Principal and staff to ensure the best possible learning opportunities for students of their school.  PSSC meetings are held approxiamtely 4 times throughout the school year to discuss school events, review of the School Improvement Plan, discuss academic performance (assessment results), and provide input and help with decision making on some school related topics.
