We have been notified that Friday, October 30th, 2020 will now be a professional learning day for teachers and staff. There will be no school for students on that day. One of the previously scheduled professional learning days that was scheduled for after Christmas break will be cancelled. When we receive notice of that exact date, we will inform our families.

Hello Families! We are under a week away from being reunited with our students. We are excited to welcome everyone back despite this year looking a bit different than what we are used to. As we prepare for a safe and positive return for your children, here are some important things you will need to know. More details regarding some of this information will be available in our school operational plan that will be made available to the public shortly.
We hope you are all well and that you had a great summer break! We are working very hard for your return to school and want to share some important information as we prepare to safely welcome you back.
Due to Covid-19, many schools have had to find alternative ways to recognize and celebrate our student's milestones. We are planning to present our larger awards to deserving receipients next Wednesay evening. The following awards will be presented: The Leadership Award, The Outstanding Student Award, The Turnaround Achievement Award, Male and Female Athlete of the Year (Elementary and Middle), Elementary Unsung Hero Award, The Mary Harper Award (for school participation), The Agnus Fowlie Award (kind and caring award), and The Bucket Filler Award (Elementary kindness).
Dear Families, we are trying our best to prepare for next year, and at this point their are still many questions left unanswered. But what we do know is that students will still require school supplies! As in the past, for our K-3 students, families where asked to pay a fee and the teachers purchased the necessary materials that they preferred for their students based on years of experience that they felt has the largest benefit for students (colour coded duotangs, specific brands of material that are of better quality, etc.).
Over the past 9 years, Devon has matured into a well-rounded, mature young man who will be missed by both staff and students at MRS. His work ethic and dedication are sure to help him with his studies at JMH. In his earlier years he was timid and quiet, which made him vulnerable to falling behind, but over the years he gained confidence in his abilities that made him more comfortable asking for help and asking key questions. He is certainly a genuine, caring and kind young man and one who can be described as "an old soul". We wish you nothing but the best, Devon!
Hi everyone! Well, it's hard to believe, but the end of the school year is coming to an end. Friday is the last official day for this year! It certainly has been one to remember.
With that being said, arrangements to pick-up report cards will be made in a similar way to when student belongings were picked up. The date for report card pickup will be next Friday, June 19th. More information will be made available in the next few days.
After offering the on-line session “Staying Mentally Healthy During the COVID-19 Pandemic” to teachers and administrators, ASD-N’s John Fletcher will now be offering parents/guardians the opportunity to sign up. At ASD-N, we realize that the evolving situation with the COVID-19 Pandemic has been quite stressful for all of us: educators, parents and students alike. To help with these uncertain times, we are offering a parent/guardian mental health on-line session on Thursday, May 21st, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
