Hi everyone,
As you all know - we will not be returning to school this Monday - but will be taking part in at home learning for a minimum of 2 weeks.
I hope we will all be able to be together again sooner than later.

The procedure for this period of at home learning will be very similar to how things were done during the CUPE strike.
I will be making a choice board, for each grade, which will include 4 activities per subject for this upcoming week (Tuesday-Friday) and 5 activities per subject the following week (Monday-Friday).
This way, your child is given a bit of independence and can choose their work for the day, hopefully giving way to less resistance and avoidance of doing work at home.

I will be hosting a morning meeting on Zoom at 10 each morning for a half hour to chat and socialize with their peers and then 2 grade specific meetings in the afternoons to allow for students to ask questions about their work, if they have any.
The Grade 3's meeting will be at 12:45 and the Grade 4's meeting will be at 1:10. Students are asked only to join the grade specific meetings if they have questions - so that time can be spent effectively answering questions from those who are struggling - but everyone is welcome at the morning meeting.

I will be posting the choice board online to my teacher page, as well as the links to any websites needed.
I will additionally be printing off this choice board, spelling words, worksheets, textbooks, etc. for each student.
The pick-up time for these packets will be on Monday from 12-2. If you are unable to make it for this time, the packets will be left out of the school for later pick up.
If you have any questions, let me know!

It was announced yesterday that this Friday, December 17th, will be the last day before Christmas Break for students in K-6, making this week now our last week at school.

With that being said, our school has pivoted and switched up our Christmas Spirit Activities to fit the remainder of this week.
In Grade 3/4 this week...

Tuesday: Christmas Sweater/Colour Day
Wednesday: Christmas Hat/Mask/Sock Day
Thursday: Dress Your Christmas Best (Recording of Christmas Concert) + Secret Santa
Friday: PJ Day and Class Celebration

If you can send in your child's present for Secret Santa ASAP - it would be greatly appreciated!
I would hate for someone to forget their gift on the day of!
If you're wanting to send in treats for our class celebration on Friday - please have things individually wrapped or easy to distrubute by Miss. Poole.
