The grade 3/4 class have been introduced to some strategies to help them with addition.  Students learn both strategies and will choose the strategy that best suits their needs when asked to add 2, 3 or 4 digit numbers.  In case parents/guardians want to be able to support your child at home I have attached a quick review that you may want to refer to.

Dear Families, This year, my intention is to improve communication with families with regards to teaching and learning.  I am going to make an effort to use the website more for those of you who check regularly.  If you do have internet access, I will encourage you to visit my teacher page to keep up to date on what we are learning in Math.  I will post any assigned homework to this site with specific due dates.  I will also be sure to upload the homework assigned to make access easier for you.  I know how easily homework can disappear!  Homework that is assigned will not be unfamiliar to students.  This work will be based on the lessons previously taught to reinforce what was learned prior.  Assigning homework will allow me to assess how your child is progressing with the outcomes and determine if they may require extra help with certain outcomes.  I will also be working on a document with the outcomes your child is expected to achieve each unit.  This will be coming soon and will be posted under my documents.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions related to your child's homework or the outcomes.

Lesson 7 Worksheet:  Using Arrays to Divide.  Due Tuesday, October 13th.  I am also attaching the sheet in case any student forgot to bring it or lost it.You can remind your child that division is the opposite of multiplication.  Have them think about how they might use multiplication to help them solve division.  Also, the divisor (the number at the beginning of the divistion equation) is being divided by the number of rows in the array.
