It was nice to get back on schedule today. The day started off with a morning letter. Miss Reid revealed a special project we will be doing in literacy. Do you remember what it was? Our spelling challenge word today was a little challenging. We tried to spell the word “sabotage”. We only had trouble with the ending. We did an exercise on adverbs. Do you remember what an adverb is? We use these in our writing to enhance it! We read a mixed up book today called he Three Little Pigs and the Somewhat Bad Wolf”. We finished literacy with a writing block. We started our story from the story starters we chose last Friday. Everyone worked so hard on their story today. It was fantastic!! Some of us chose to stay inside at recess to work on our homework. We completed 2 more sections of our Math 3 Under the Sea game. Today was “Eat Your Math” day! We used Skittles and Smarties to help us divide. In science, we continued to explore soils. Today we looked at roots. We also watered our plants and we have noticed that they are growing well! It is great to see everyone actively participating in the Mango Go for 42 challenge! Keep it up! See you tomorrow.

Welcome to our grade 3 class report! We had a long weekend and everyone had some things to share in the morning letters we wrote. Some of us shared them with the class. We learned a new word in our spelling challenge today. Do you remember what it was? Then, we did a show not tell. We haven’t done one of these in a while. We had to show what it was like if someone was confused. We watched a cool video on a robot and then we learned how to draw one. It’s great to see everyone putting their own details into the doodles. We began to read a book about the Titanic. Last week we finished a book on Anne Frank. It was very interesting to see what life was like for Anne and her family. We came back from gym very hot. Everyone must have had a great workout! We started a new unit in math today on multiplication and division. Today we learned that multiplication is all about equal groups and it is just like repeated addition and skip counting. We did some questions on the board and we also use whiteboard paddles. We also started a new unit in science. Last week we finish building our Geodesic Dome. It took us a while and there were a few times we gave up but we pulled through! There will be pictures coming soon. Our new unit is on Soils. We went outside and gather soil from different spots around the playground and we made some neat observations.
