Good afternoon and welcome to our class report! I am sorry there has not been a class report in a while. Things have been very busy here with our Mathletics competition in full swing! It is great to see students so excited about Math and logging on to Mathletics at home to earn points. Did you see the videos on the school website and on our class webpage? If you haven’t, you should check them out! We had a special message from the "boss of Mathletics". Was it really the boss, or was someone trying to fool us?! Today we took part in the Elementary Science Fair at Gretna Green! There were different stations students visited while they were waiting to be judged. Everyone did an awesome job representing MRS and presenting their projects. Well done, grade 3! Most of us are staying after school for the Mathletics Marathon! Students will be working on Math problems until 6pm tonight to help earn points for their class! How wonderful!! Tomorrow we are back to our regular routine. There is hot lunch tomorrow – pizza for $2.00 a slice. We will also be having our spelling test tomorrow so don’t forget to review your words. Good luck tonight Mathletes! See you all tomorrow.

Welcome to our class report! So glad to see that everyone survived the snowstorm. There's nothing like having a snow storm at the beginning of spring. How bizarre! Today we watched a funny video about a donkey. Do you remember what he was doing? Then we doodled a donkey. Everyone’s looked great! We did a printing activity that will help us to remember to always write neatly in between the lines. We will be doing this activity until we remember to print neatly no matter what class we are in! We had our spelling test today and we read another chapter in our Cabin Creek book. The cousins learned some interesting information about Willie Stamper. Do you remember what it was? Just when we think we have something figured out, the story seems to change. The author is really keeping us on our toes! Some students read with me today while others did a Daily 5 station. In math we are continuing to learn about measurement. Today, we learned what we can use as a referent for different measurements. What can you use as a referent for 1 cm? 10 cm? 50 cm? 100 cm? We also started to explore measurements in meters. Do you remember how meters and centimeters are alike? In science, we built structures in groups of 2. What were the characteristics of your tower? We had a special guest sit in on our science class today. Do you think she enjoyed her visit? Have a wonderful weekend and hopefully we don’t get any more snow!

Hello and welcome to our class report! We started our week off with a trip to Dr. Losier Middle School to watch Theatre New Brunswick perform a play. The play was called Wally Finds his Inner Bear. There were only two characters in the whole play but they each played a couple of different characters. The play was based on a book that a seven year old boy wrote. Maybe one of the stories we write in class will someday be turned into a play! That would be cool! What was your favorite part of the play? We saw a couple familiar faces at the theatre yesterday. Do you remember who? This morning we had two students from NBCC come in to give a talk on Thumbody. We learned a new song and we also learned that no two people are exactly alike. We are all unique in our own special way and that’s ok! We have added a something new to our spelling challenge. After we spell an unknown word, we have to define it. So far, we have learned the words digress and frugal. Do you remember what they mean? In writing, we have started our teacher of the week again and we have also been working on another recount. We have been having lots of fun exploring measurement. We now know different ways to measure time, we can use a ruler to measure and draw lengths and we can use referents to help us measure. We ended the day in art class with Ms. Bordage. Tonight is Parent-Teacher from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. I might see some of you then! Have a great evening!
