Miramichi Rural Home and School will be having a BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, May 20th from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Kent Building Supplies in Douglastown. All are welcome! Come on out and support MRS while indulging in a delicious BBQ!
Join us for a STEMfest Carnival on Saturday, May 13th at James M. Hill High School from 9:30am to 3:30pm! ASD-N students will work in teams to design and build carnival/arcade games out of cardboard and other materials. Prizes will be awarded! Parents are also welcome to attend STEMfest 2017. Miramichi rural students Alex Dowling and Nicholas Cabana-Whitely competed over the weekend in the North Anglophone School District which was held in Rexton. They both played very tough matches with students from across the district. Alex won a match in his grade level, which was one of the largest groups in the tournament! Great job Alex! Also, Nicholas Cabana Whitely placed 2nd in his grade level and qualified for the Provincial Chess Tournament which will be held on April 22nd! Congratulations Nicholas! In order to continue to promote a positive learning environment, we are increasing the number of ways we recognize students on a monthy basis. For the last couple of years, we have focused on teaching students in K-5 to be "Bucketfillers". Throughout the year, all the students recognized as a Bucketfiller will have their name entered for a draw at the end of the year to win a new bicycle.
